This Great Earth: Celebrating Our Awe Inspiring Planet

June 4 - September 8, 2017

Opening Reception: Sunday, June 4th, 2017 3-7pm

The This Great Earth exhibition at the Jersey Shore Arts Center celebrates all things wonderful about our natural planet. The exhibition is a showcase of artists depictions everything between the dark depths of the Mariana Trench to the upper limits of the exosphere, riding along on the journey of the satellite, Earth. Their amazing and unique experience will undoubtedly provide the same.

This year, the Jersey Shore Arts Center celebrates the 20th year since restoration began on our beautiful and historic building. Our central grand hall, 2nd and 3rd floor galleries offer prime exhibition space for viewing by patrons to theater productions, poetry readings, dance recitals, and general events.

Artists are allowed to submit up to three pieces. Acceptable Mediums for Wall Display:  Painting, Drawing, Mixed-Media, Metal, Wood, Clay, Stone, Photography and Measurements must not exceed 72”.

Submissions

After completing this registration, all entries must be submitted via email as digital JPG or PNG image files to [email protected]. The judges will review the digital images to select those suitable for conditional acceptance to exhibit in the show. The final award judging will be based on the actual artwork on display in the exhibition. Up to three images may be submitted. Based on the judges’ decision and subject to exhibit space availability, all of your entries may or may not be accepted.

Each entry uploaded must be in the JPG or PNG format with no less than 2000 pixels on the longest side. Artist’s initials or name identification must not be visible in the JPG, although it may appear on the final accepted print submitted for gallery exhibit and final judging.

All entries must be labeled as follows:

    Your last name_Your first name_Title of artwork_Medium _Dimensions

    For example: Herbst_Herb_Mountain _ oil on canvas _72 x 36

    NOTE: Incorrect naming could result in disqualification.

Online registration period begins on February 20th and ends on April 30th, 2017. No Submissions will be accepted after April 30th. Submissions are made on-line only.

Eligibility

All elements in a composite image must be the original work of the submitting artist and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else.The Jersey Shore Arts Center has the right to reject objectionable and non-conforming images.

Final acceptance is contingent on the JPG you submitted being an accurate representation of the work you deliver, having excellent print quality, and meeting all of the requirements described in this Prospectus.

About the Jersey Shore Arts Center: Saved from the wrecking ball, this 1896 school building is located at 66 South Main Street at the gates of Historic Ocean Grove, New Jersey. We serve the artistic community by making available studios for professional artists, a dance school, yoga school, violin academy and two theater production companies. Our facility touts two theaters with cast dressing rooms, a 20’ x 30’ retractable movie screen with state-of- the-art projector, a dining room with fully appointed commercial kitchen and 2 parking lots. Ocean Grove, adjacent to Asbury Park, is a popular tourist destination on the Jersey Shore offering a variety of hotels, restaurants, bars, music, and family-friendly venues within a short drive by car or walkable distance from train.
